ESM's 80" IMAA LEGAL P-39 AIRACOBRA , bring on a great Pursuit Fighter of WWII !!!
An unbelievable rendition of the unique P-39. Bristling with scale features and detail together with the optional retracts
All of our Warbirds are superb flying models with handling to match your average sports hack. Not only do we use washout but also a special wing section designed to reduce tip stall. Add to this scale flaps and you have a model that will land at a realistically slow speed without any signs of tip stall, especially when using flaps.
As with most of our scale designs the Airacobra consists of a high quality moulded fuselage complete with panel line and rivet detail. The wings and tailplane parts are of a built-up construction for lightness and strength, with a bespoke covering designed specifically to accept paint without risk of flaking or wrinkling.
The completed airframe is sprayed with accurate RAL colours with all decals pre-applied. Finally the surface is coated with a matt seal to keep the model looking like new for longer and stop the film and decals from lifting.
Many of our aircraft have additional retract sets available that include everything needed for a professional setup. Or if you prefer you can use the standard fixed undercarriage as supplied in the kit with the option to always upgrade later.
You won't find a better, more accurate 30cc sized ARTF anywhere. The same could be said for all of our scale models. You only have to look at the pictures above to see that many of our customers enhance their models further with extra details such as our resin exhaust kits.

HISTORY:
ESM is pleased to bring you a fine model of the Bell P-39 Airacobra. The P-39 was one of America's first-line pursuit planes in December 1941. It made its initial flight in April 1939 at Wright Field and by the time of the Pearl Harbor attack, nearly 600 had been built. Its unique engine location behind the cockpit caused some pilot concern, but this proved to be no more of a hazard in a crash landing than with an engine located forward of the cockpit.
The Airacobra saw combat throughout the world, particularly in the Southwest Pacific, Mediterranean and Russian theaters. It's engine was not equipped with a supercharger, the P-39 performed best below 17,000 feet altitude, and it often was used at lower altitudes for such missions as ground strafing. When P-39 production ended in August 1944, Bell had built 9,584 Airacobras, of which 4,773 had been allotted to the Soviet Union. Russian pilots particularly liked the cannon-armed P-39 for its ground attack capability. Other P-39s served French and British forces.
Now you too can own a beautiful scale reproduction of his aircraft!
